Daizenshuu EX — The Podcast: Episode #0002
VegettoEX @ 12:01 am EST -- Episode #0002 is available! Following up on the great response we got last week, Julian and I got together this evening and recorded the second episode of our podcast. And who's this that made a special guest appearance? None other than Meri, herself!

For more information (download link, other topics discussed, XML for subscription, etc.), visit our "Podcast" page.

Cheap-o DBZ Gifts for the Holidays!
VegettoEX @ 7:30 pm EST -- Forum member Tanooki Kuribo (yet again!) has made a really comprehensive list of a whole bunch of nice and cheap DBZ-related items being sold for dirt-cheap prices online. DVDs for about $5, some cheap box sets, some figures for about $4, and a whole lot more. My favorite deal is FUNimation's upcoming DB movies 2, 3, & 4 boxset for about $18! Check it out. And buy me lots of stuff for Christmas.

"DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete 'ku" Remix on iTunes
VegettoEX @ 5:56 pm EST -- A remix of "DAN DAN Kokoro Hikarete 'ku" (the original Japanese opening theme to DragonBall GT) can be found for purchase on the American iTunes!

This is from the Anipara Club - Para Para Dance No. 1 CD released by I Love You! Project on "Anime Records" (uhh...) on 25 October 2005. (They have two other albums up on iTunes, as well.) The song sounds like an American trying to sing in Japanese. I can't find an entry for this CD on either Amazon or CDJapan, so I can't even tell which country it's from :P. Seems to be more American in nature, though.

If you're looking for some new music to listen to, check it out. It's only 99 cents, so it's not going to burn a hole in your wallet. Despite what I said above, it's actually not all that bad. Be aware that you must have an iTunes account (and the iTunes application) in order to purchase and listen to the song.

Click here for the album's iTunes entry.

DBZ Movie 12 FUNimation Cover...?
VegettoEX @ 10:15 am EST -- First off, a big "Gobble, Gobble!" to all of our Thanksgiving-celebrating readers!

Over on our forums, Li'l Lemmy posted a link to this page on AAA Anime, which seems to showcase FUNimation's cover for their domestic release of DBZ movie 12 (Fusion Reborn!! Goku and Vegeta, simply entitled Fusion Reborn by FUNimation). We're not one to post up "rumors", or any kind of unconfirmed information, but since they also have a page for the next "Ultimate Uncut" DVD (with cover art that would be much harder to fake), this seems to be slightly legit.

I'm truly digging this trend of using the original Japanese cover art. Way to go, guys.

Anime No. 1 CD in Japan
VegettoEX @ 8:39 pm EST -- CD Japan currently has a listing for a new CD coming out in Japan on December 21st entitled Anime No. 1. Set to include a track from Hironobu Kageyama, it has the "original singers for theme songs to classic animation series" that will "reprise their role to cover their own tracks and celebrate the history of animation". No word on which Hironobu Kageyama song from DBZ it will contain, but logic dictates that it will be the 2005 version of either "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" or "We Gotta Power!" (see our August 10th update).

I don't know of any other "2005 version" CDs that were released for other shows, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. We'll be sure to let you know if we're getting another new version of a great song, or if we're just getting one of the sub-par tracks from earlier this year slapped on a new compilation CD.

Legendary Super Warriors $4.95
VegettoEX @ 10:43 pm EST -- FUNimation's Z-Store has a couple copies left of Legendary Super Warriors for the GameBoy Color (will play on a GBA, of course) for a shocking $4.95. Just watch out for the shipping... make sure you order something else so it's worth it. When they're gone, they're gone!

Thanks to Tanooki Kuribo on the forums for that one.

If you haven't checked out the first episode of our new podcast, be sure to do so. Expect episode two this coming weekend!

Daizenshuu EX — The Podcast
VegettoEX @ 12:37 pm EST -- So we did it. We've been thinking about doing it for a while, but we finally did it. Last night Julian and I recorded our first-ever podcast. All right, fine... so we haven't actually set up the RSS feed and all that jazz yet, but we're getting to it! We mostly just wanted to get the file out there while it's still relevant :P.

For those who haven't gotten into them yet, a "podcast" is essentially a pre-recorded internet radio show. You don't need an iPod to listen; you can just download the MP3 and play it in any audio program, such as Winamp or Windows Media Player. When we get everything configured correctly, you'll be able to subscribe to an RSS feed that will automatically download new episodes for you as soon as they become available!

The new "Podcast" page will always contain at least the latest episode, as well as a brief description and links we talk about during the show. You can also find a link to the page up in the right corner of this main page.

For our first episode, we talked a little bit about FUNimation's upcoming DB movie boxset, the movie "Dragon Box", and we even brought in a special guest from our forum, lost_in_thought, to talk a little bit about Sparking! now that it's weeks later after the release of the game.

We haven't yet decided on how often we'll do the show (weekly, bi-weekly), but we had a fun time with it and can't wait to do more. It was our first show, so please excuse any interesting audio quirks... we can only go up from here! :D Check it out.

Bukû Ressen Updates + DBZ TV R2s
VegettoEX @ 9:15 pm EST -- The official site for Bukû Ressen (Super Sonic Warriors 2 as it shall be known outside of Japan) has been updated with a little more information, and a rockin' new trailer. I love hearing new banter between Goku & Vegeta!

Over on our forum, RC315 has posted up some pictures and screen-caps from the first release of the individual DBZ TV DVDs in Japan. These are individual releases of the discs contained in the two DBZ "Dragon Box" sets, retailing for ¥3800 a pop. Volumes 1, 2, and 3 (containing episodes 1-18) were released on November 2nd. Apparently, coming as quite a shock to all, the menus and disc art are completely different from the corresponding discs in the actual "Dragon Box" sets...!

New "Tidbit" Additions
VegettoEX @ 11:05 pm EST -- Ever want a page where you could just get a reliable (and complete!) list of playable characters in the newer video games? Of course you did! And hey, even if you don't, there are pretty pictures to look at.

You'll find complete listings of every single playable character (including alternate outfits and transformations) for the above-listed games. Special thanks to everyone on the forum for testing and proofing the pages for us!

Bukû Ressen Official Website
VegettoEX @ 6:47 pm EST -- The official site for Bukû Ressen (Super Sonic Warriors 2 as it shall be known outside of Japan) is up and online as-of yesterday. Very sexy site, showcasing lots of new characters and features (whee, Bardock!).

The game, coming out for the Nintendo DS, is due in Japan on 01 December 2005 for a moderate ¥5040 (a little under $50).
