Final
Bout Contest Winner Announced!
VegettoEX
@ 10:37 pm EDT -- We'd like to announce the winner
of our Final Bout contest! The winner is...
*drumroll*
Chris Wilson
Chris
had the one entry that, we felt, truly captured
what the contest was really about... making fun
of Final Bout in such an absurdly clever
way that it could only be true. "Press
then Ponder EX" ?!? Genius. "Dual
system capability" ? Beyond genius.
Chris, we've gotta hand it to you... you honestly
know just how much Final Bout sucks! (Once
I get back from AWA) I'll be contacting you concerning
the mailing of your prize, which is the phenomenal
soundtrack to this horrid game! And I think I'll
throw a surprise in, too ^_~
Special
thanks to everyone who entered! Expect a full gallery
of all entries sometime early next
week.
When
I return? Three new music videos. In the meantime?
Hopefully Julian can toss something your way :P. |

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated
Barry Watson
@ 11:53 pm EDT -- "Ask
FUNimation VegettoEX" has finally
been updated after a loooong time away. We've got
a good dozen or so questions and answers for you
to check out, so be sure to wander on over! Thanks
for all the questions!
So,
if you happen to be going to Anime
Weekend Atlanta this coming weekend... see you
there! Come check out a very special "Meri
& VegettoEX" panel on Friday @
2 pm. Beyond our showing off some of our
regular videos, there's going to be some very awesome
videos we've selected from some first-time editors,
some alternate versions of our videos... and...
"Doomrider"
will finally premier! Yay! Good ol', "Doomrider"...
where 2nd/3rd-gen DBZ website owners go to die.

Final
Bout Contest Extended + Buu's Fury
News
VegettoEX
@ 3:05 pm EDT -- I'm far too busy prepping for AWA
to get working on the Final
Bout
contest this evening... so the deadline has
been extended a week! If you're not familiar with
it, we're looking for the most absurdly clever and
sarcastic sell-sheets you can come up with! The
prize? The official Japanese release of the Final
Bout soundtrack, which happens to contain some
spectacular Hironobu Kageyama vocal songs! ENTER!
In
Buu's Fury (technically Legacy of Goku
III) news... it seems that both Broli and Janenba
appear in the game! Check
out some screens over in this thread on our
forum, thanks to Izlude.
Also,
expect an "Ask
VegettoEX" update this coming weekend,
along with some really awesome news about events
at AWA.

Eight
Years Ago....
VegettoEX
@ 11:02 am EDT -- Eight years ago in 1996, in the
wee hours of syndication, "The Arrival
of Raditz" aired, marking DBZ's first
official introduction in the US.
Holy
crap, I'm getting old.
Arr,

VegettoEX
@ 8:50 pm EDT -- Contest!

There's only a couple days left to get your entries
in! Up for grabs is the official Japanese release
of the Final Bout soundtrack. We love the
entries we've gotten so far, and look forward to

Sorry
for the lack of content updates the last few days;
I'm hard at work on finishing up a video for this
year's DDR Project. Look forward to it.. it's a
DragonBall video, no less! |

DBAF
Discussion + DBZ Sagas: Evolution
VegettoEX
@ 6:24 pm EDT -- As I'm sure you
all remember, there was set to be a preview
of DBAF on the 8th @ 7:30 pm on Fuji TV. Well, we've
got the latest information, and even a sneak peak
of Shenlong's new look! Check out our
forum thread on the whole topic. Interesting
stuff.
(If
you don't understand the whole situation, you're
long over-due to read our current
feature.)
With
that out of the way, let's talk video games. The
Budokai 3 "special edition" is
set to come out (pre-order
on EBGames for $59.99) the same day as the regular
version. In addition to the game, you'll get an
exclusive Chibi Broli toy, and a behind - the -
scenes bonus DVD... which includes a preview of
a new game entitled DBZ Sagas: Evolution.
We're supposedly getting a new action game in 2005,
so look for more information as we get it! |

Get
Yer NON-Bootleg CDs! eBay Time!
VegettoEX
@ 1:46 pm EDT -- I've
created a sticky-thead over on the forum. Ya'
know... this will probably (inadvertently) drive
up the final win prices on all the CDs, but...
Folks
are always asking where to get legit DB CDs. There's
just so many bootlegs, and so much more "rare"
stuff that wasn't even bootlegged, anyway... where
can you get it? eBay. Just look
carefully. If you wait it out and keep up with your
searches, you're bound to find good stuff! In my
last search, I even came upon the Bukkun
release. If I didn't already spend so much money
on DBZ stuff the last two months, I'd be all over
some of these! Happy bidding! |

"Transformations
Guide" Finally Appears!
VegettoEX
@ 1:59 pm EDT -- It's here! After months
of incredilby detailed work and translation, we've
finally (near) completed the "Transformations
Guide"~!!!
It's
certainly the most detailed and
most accurate one of its kind that you'll come across.
We've translated a great deal of information from
the manga, anime, and daizenshuu to make
it as complete as it can possibly be.
Looking
for detailed explanations of the "USSJ"
stage? How about all of Broli's strange stages?
Maybe all of those movie characters? How about all
the new Budokai fusions and absorptions?
We've
got it all.
We'd
love to hear what you think about it. Big thanks
to everyone on the
forum for all their proof-reading and criticism.
Other
stuff you might have missed? DBGT
TV special synopsis, updates
on upcoming AMVs, and our
Final Bout contest. |

DBGT
TV Special Info + Synopsis
VegettoEX
@ 6:14 pm EDT -- Lots of people have been asking
for it (and we've been getting a lot of search engine
referrals for it), so we've gone ahead and updated
the "Movie
Guide" to include the
main info page for the DBGT TV Special (which
will be released in November under the title A
Hero's Legacy), as well as
a
complete detailed synopsis of the feature!
Includes
craptacular fansub screen-shots that I can't wait
to replace with DVD rips when it comes out! :D
Expect
a totally awesomely huge content update tomorrow. |

SSJ
Broli Confirmed for DBZ3 / Budokai 3
VegettoEX
@ 11:52 pm EDT -- In addition to his gigantic "Legendary"
form, Broli also sports his
regular SSJ form (in movie 8, it's the cool/strange
blue-haired form) in DragonBall Z 3 / Budokai
3. Check
out this image (special thanks to Deus for the
pic).
More
cool stuff to come soon! |

Final
Bout Shipments Delayed?
VegettoEX
@ 10:50 pm EDT -- I received the following message
from a source that wishes to remain anonymous (due
to job issues), but we feel it's important. I haven't
gotten MY copy shipped yet, so it all makes sense.
Information copied and pasted as-is from e-mail:
I
feel I should inform you that the game "DragonBall
GT: Final Bout" was in fact not shipped yesterday.
Our received shipments in my own store and all
local stores did not contain the expected copies.
I personally had a copy pre-ordered and mine never
came in. We're hoping to receive shipments by
the end of the week or early next week, but New
Release titles rarely come any days other than
Tuesday or Wednesday. The message we received
via e-mail is that the company themselves never
shipped out the packages. Sorry.
Also,
if this only applies to stores in my local area
(PA, NJ, NY, etc.) then I apologize for providing
you with false information, but to the best of
my knowledge, the game was not shipped from Atari.
So
there ya' go. Hope that's helpful for those of you
who haven't gotten your items shipped yet. Expect
some nice new content coming in the next day or
so! New synopsis, new song, new images... they're
almost done... ^_~
Be
sure to enter the Final Bout contest!
We're loving the entries so far. |
