Budokai
3 Pre-Sell Bonus Items
VegettoEX
@ 3:55 pm EDT -- Finally went down to EB and put
in my pre-order for Budokai 3 this afternoon;
wasn't expecting to get some of the bonus items
right away! As we know by now, the special "Collector's
Edition" gets you the Chibi Broli toy, the
bonus DVD, and here's some of the other stuff:
The
mini-manga showcases Goku's original fight with
Yamcha, and has two "covers" (as you can
see) that are those silly light reflecting surfaces
with multiple images. And it's really tiny. |

"Rumor
Guide" Update
VegettoEX
@ 6:52 pm EDT -- "Rumor
Guide" updated! Special thanks to Dai for
suggesting this one over on the forum.
You'll
note this isn't on the "Dub
Mistakes" page, but rather on the "Characters"
page... read to find out why!
Hey,
new Advance
Adventure and Budokai
3 screens over on The
Magic Box. |

Note
to Those Sending MP3s...
VegettoEX
@ 9:07 pm EDT -- While we appreciate the fact that
you're all eager to send us the Budokai 3
opening theme (American version), we're going to
have to ask that you please stop sending
the MP3s. The majority of them are simply
ripped from the Gamespot opening, which is less-than-stellar
quality (not to mention has the logo "whoosh!"
at the beginning), and we'd simply like to digitally
rip our own version from the actual PS2 game when
it comes out by ourselves (plus, that way I get
to do all the downsampling and encoding on my own
from the raw files).
The
short vocal
version we have up isn't quite perfect quality,
but it should be able to hold you over until the
offiical release! |

Budokai
3 Vocal Theme (Short Version) - Temp MP3!
VegettoEX
@ 6:52 pm EDT -- GO
FOR IT!!! We've got a temporary MP3 up of the
vocal opening theme to Budokai 3 / DragonBall
Z 3, as extracted from an Italian site's AVI
file ^^;;. We'll (of course!) replace it with actual
digitally-extracted versions of the theme (hopefully
both short and long) once the game's officially
released; until then, enjoy
this version!
Jump
All Stars Roster Update
VegettoEX
@ 11:53 am EDT -- Grar. This update mysteriously
disappeared. I'll grab it from the other computer
later. Basically, more characters have been announced
for Jump All Stars on Nintendo DS, and
it's all over on "The
Buzz" to check out. Thanks to go The
Magic Box for this week's V-Jump scans. |

"Covers"
Update + (Mostly) Final Budokai 3 Roster
VegettoEX
@ 12:17 pm EDT -- The "Covers"
page has been updated with the last two domestic
Shonen Jump covers. We fell behind slightly,
but we're all caught up, now! October's was actually
a DBZ cover, so be sure to check it.
Also,
if you head on over to "The
Buzz" you can see what will most likely
be the final full character roster
for Budokai 3. If you think about it logically,
with FUNimation having such a hand in the production
of this game, they're not going to include characters
that don't even have official voices yet... this
means no Janenma and/or Tapion, folks. Sorry. Deal.
Besides, if any of our readers actually
believed as
bad an image as this, I'd feel like we just
haven't even come close to doing our job ;_;
The
game is just about a month away... I know we're
all dying in anticipation ^^;;. |

"Rumor
Guide" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 3:46 pm EDT -- I have no idea why the last two
updates were suddenly erased from both the server
and my hard-drive... but... let's move on. Thank
you, Google Cache.
The
"Rumor
Guide" has been updated with a myth that
I still see being paraded around, despite
the episode in question actually already released
on DVD in America!
Read.
Yay. No "Ask
VegettoEX" this weekend; too soon after
the last one, and too busy :P |

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 2:11 pm EDT -- GameSpot
has a whole crapload of free streaming videos to
check out of Budokai 3 gameplay, but the real treat
is the last one on the page... the opening theme!
We've pretty much seen all the screen shots (especially
if you've been reading along in the forums),
but you can see it all in motion along with the
song, here ^^.
Keep
in mind that since this is from the American version,
there are no vocals to go along with the song (again,
sadly ;_;). Of course we'll have this version for
you as soon as we possibly can (being... err...
when I buy the game), but we'll once more need a
fan who's certainly buying the Japanese version
to help us out and rip the opening theme audio...
we need our Hironobu Kageyama!
Of
course, if they would just release a darn soundtrack
instead of tempting us with possible releases and
then cancelling them, we wouldn't have this problem
:P |

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 11:44 pm EDT -- "Ask
VegettoEX" is updated! Sorry for the delay;
I ended up just falling asleep far too early last
night and forgot to upload :P. Be sure to check
out all the other new stuff that's been added; read
all the neat stuff below for more information. |

"Dear
Fanboys" Premier + "The Buzz" Updates
VegettoEX
@ 5:30 pm EDT -- "Dear
Fanboys" is our new little section where
we can all vent a little bit. Don't you just hate
all those stupid statements you read and hear? Don't
you just want to hand it to them? Here's your chance.
We've opened up the section with some of our favorite
items, and encourage you to (follow the
directions and) contribute your own! Check
it!
I've
also updated "The
Buzz" as I should have for quite some time.
There's a good amount of updates, specifically regarding
Budokai 3. While you're at it, check out
Meristation's
gorgeous gallery of new images, including some
shots from the game's opening theme! Whee!
We're
looking to have an "Ask
VegettoEX" tomorrow ^^;;. |

Final
Bout
Press Release Contest Full Results
VegettoEX
@ 11:39 am EDT -- The
Final Bout contest results have finally
been posted in full. You can check out every single
one of the entries, and be amazed at how clever
your fellow fans can be! Sorry it took a little
extra time, but whatever :P
Also
just made a little jump-page
for the LiveJournal.
We're
working on some really neat stuff (Julian and Greg
went through some forced-translation last night
for me :P), so be on the lookout for it all soon!

Jump
Super Stars
for Nintendo DS
VegettoEX
@ 5:30 pm EDT -- GameSpot
posted an article this afternoon in which it was
announced that Nintendo and Shônen Jump
(of Japan) will be collaborating on a game for the
new DS handheld system called Jump Super Stars,
featuring Goku, Luffy, and Naruto (the main characters
of DBZ, One Piece, and Naruto,
respectively).
Other
details revealed this morning are that Jump Super
Stars will be a fighting action game. While little
further information is known, an article in this
week's Shonen Jump reports that the gameplay will
incorporate "manga-style" features into
the design. Of course, the game will take advantage
of the Nintendo DS hardware's dual screens and
stylus input.
"We
are currently in production with this revolutionary
game that allows players to experience distinctive
gameplay that's unique to the DS," Nintendo
producer Shigeru Miyamoto told Shonen Jump. "Please
look forward to this new type of entertainment
that's being created though the collaboration
between Nintendo and Jump."
We're
told to look for more details in the October 20th
issue of V-Jump, so stay tuned! Thanks
to Tenken on the board for the heads-up ^_~. Great
day for DBZ games!
Advance
Adventure
Screenies + LiveJournal
VegettoEX
@ 10:56 am EDT -- The
Magic Box has some new screen shots up from
Bandai of Japan's new DragonBall action
game, Advance Adventure. Check 'em! Expect
the game to take you through the entire DB story
(about 16 tankôbon, 153 episodes)
all the way through the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budôkai.
Also,
add "daizex"
to your LiveJournal friends list! Julian and I will
be using it to just rant and rave and share a few
things about the site, sometimes going a little
off-topic and just having fun (as opposed to the
forum, where we like to play nice and keep things
clean!). Have fun!
Chris
Wilson, your Final Bout soundtrack is on
its way! I also threw in a copy of our AMV DVD as
a little extra ^_~. |
