DBGT
Sales, DB & GT Confirmed for YTV
VegettoEX @
2:30 pm EDT -- Anime
News Network gets the cred for providing this
info. The "First Alert" list (which tracks
overall VHS and DVD sales) lists DBGT in the top 20
for both VHS and DVD. Who's buying this shit on VHS,
these days?
Also,
YTV (the Canadian TV channel) has confirmed both DragonBall
and DragonBall GT as programming for the fall.
No,
we don't know when GT will be on Cartoon Network /
Toonami, and no, asking us over and over will not
make the answer come sooner. When it's announced,
we'll let ya' know.
Trivia
tomorrow night!
Remember... new time. 9 pm eastern (NOT 8 pm). Total
questions has hit the 600 mark! w00t!

New
Shonen Jump Cover, Trivia Friday Night
VegettoEX @
11:14 pm EDT -- Check out the "Covers"
section for the cover of this month's Shonen Jump,
which I just got in the mail today.
Trivia
Friday night! Note, though, that
trivia will be moved to 9 pm eastern time!
I've got a bunch o' new questions, so it'll be good
fun! Also, the fserve should be back up Friday night,
as well, so look for "This is Otakudom"
soon... and maybe some more surprises! :D :D

New
"Taiketsu" Screenies
VegettoEX @
3:24 pm EDT -- The
Magic Box has updated with some new screen shots
for the upcoming GameBoy Advance game, "Taiketsu."
There will apparently be 15 playable characters, with
fighting both on the ground and in the air (sounds
similar to the old "Super Butoden"
games).
Confirmed
characters via the screen shots include Gokuu, Vegeta,
Raditz, Nappa, and Majin Buu ("Mr. Buu").
The game is due out in November from Atari.
Go
buy the new Yellowcard album ("Ocean Avenue").

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated and We've Got Music, Again!
VegettoEX @
3:30 pm EDT -- Check out this week's absolutely awesome
and fantastic "Ask
VegettoEX" section for some answers to your
burning questions! Fun stuff.
That
said, the "Music
Downloads" have returned! Special thanks
to bestest friend Dan for setting up the server for
me :D.

Stuffage
Julian @ 2:15
pm EDT -- Well...long time no see, huh? I actually
should have done this update about...*counts*... two
weeks ago, but I've been pretty busy between work
and getting ready to go away to college this fall.
But anyway, in case you haven't noticed, there are
new images from the Kanzenban volumes in the
Covers section,
as well as yet another non-Toriyama illustration in
Other Artists.
Fans of Kaiô, Vegeta, and/or the manga series
Pretty Face should be quite pleased.
Also, I've gone and added another set of lyrics to
its appropriate section.
This time it's "Hitori
ja Nai," the first ending theme of DBGT.
Be sure to check it out. If I'm lucky, I might have
some lyrics for the ending themes to the last 4 DBZ
movies up here before the end of August. After that,
I'll only have insert songs (and maybe a few of the
more famous image songs) to do!
And what about the DVD Guide, you ask? Well,
it's almost ready for public consumption. The
problem is, every time we think we're ready to premiere
it, Mike and I come up with a way to improve it, so
the date kinda gets pushed back. Nevertheless, it
should be ready by... uh...well, Mike might not want
me to give a date, lest he feel like he's on a deadline,
so I'll just say "Soon," with a wink and
a nod to go with it.
That's all I've got for this update. See you next
month~~
Trivia
Session, 8 pm Eastern... Tonight!
VegettoEX @
10:20 am EDT -- Yep, it's a weekly thing. Come
join us over in the greatest chat on the face of this
entire planet, #daizenshuu,
for a fantastic trivia session on all things DB this
evening! 8 pm Eastern...that's 5 pm Pacific, kids!
Ugh.
Making this update from work on GoLive. Who the hell
would use this piece of trash over Dreamweaver?
Doesn't even keep the formatting of text from paragraph
to paragraph. *sigh*

Stupid
FUNimation News No-One Cares About
VegettoEX @
2:44 pm EDT -- Uhh... FUNi's got a new "Director
of Sales" that they stole from Pioneer. He was
"... involved in the sale of the first 3 DBZ
movies for Pioneer." He's with FUNi now. Stuff.
Just
go read about it on ANN. Not exactly
DBZ news per-say, but close enough. Back to work.

New
WonderSwan Game?!?
VegettoEX @
8:18 pm EDT -- For the two of you in North America
that actually own a WonderSwan and haven't already
played the game on your NES emulators... Bandai of
Japan has announced they will be releasing a new DragonBall
game for the WonderSwan Crystal on November 6th of
this year. The game, "DragonBall: Legend
of Goku," is actually a remake of the game
by the same name for the Famicom. It is a card-battle
game, similar to many of the other DragonBall
games released in Japan. Thanks to The
Magic-Box for the news blurb.
The
game was actually the third NES game released
for the DragonBall franchise. To read more
about it, check out SuperPope's
review of the game in its original NES format.

"Taiketsu"
Screenshots
VegettoEX @
4:47 pm EDT -- There's been lots of information floating
around about the supposedly upcoming GameBoy Advance
game entitled "Taiketsu," but no
real ACCURATE information. Well, it exists, it's coming
out soon (October), and
here are some screenshots! Big thanks to Clayton
Reynolds over on AFD
for the link. Other than this, there's just the
entry for it over on GameFAQs. Thanks to Brandon
Olson for that e-mail.
Looks
pretty interesting. Hope it doesn't suck :/
"Ask
VegettoEX" Update
VegettoEX @
11:48 am EDT -- Whee. "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated with a few questions,
including info on the UK English dub and some other
fun stuffage. DVD Guide.... ALMOST done. Just a few
little quirky things to edit, and it'll be ready for
mass consumption!

Happy downloading!

2:36 pm EDT -- Keep forgetting to plug this. Rachel
wrote a review of "King Piccolo (Vol. 2)"
on DVD that's been
posted over on AnimeOnDVD.com. Check it out.
And...
that's right! Trivia tomorrow night in #daizenshuu!

"There
is no OVA!" Update
VegettoEX @
4:42 pm EDT -- Hey, everyone. Big special thanks to
Ramza who contacted me out of the blue with a little
bit more information about his subtitling of the PlayDia
game footage. It's really nice to see that at least
one other older "webmaster" was able to
grow up and put any negativity aside for the greater
good of friendship and information. Many kudos.
So
yeah! Check out the "There
is no OVA!" section for a little more info,
including that on the actual VHS releases of the game
footage in Japan! Big thanks to the dragonball-benelux.com
folks for the cover scans and information!
The
"DVD Guide" is coming along extremely well.
I'd just like to take this time to mention how utterly
frustrated I am with FUNimation's episode numbering
and volume numbering schemes on their DVDs. I've had
more headaches caused by terrible numbering in the
last two days than I ever had before.
I
know Julian's got some images from the latest two
Kanzenban coming your way real shortly, too.
Trivia
Friday night in #daizenshuu...
be there! Maybe the self-proclaimed "DBZ
Info God" Werner will even show up, again
to grace us with his presence :P.

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated, "There is no OVA!"
VegettoEX @
1:10 am EDT -- Heyas~! Trivia, as always, landed us
a FULL chatroom tonight, with Napier winning it for
the evening. VERY fun stuff, and I hope to see even
MORE people next weekend!
"Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated with two great
questions. One concerns the up-coming live action
movie(s), while the other...
Well,
let's just say that "There
is no OVA!" answers it quite well. VERY interesting
stuff... been working hard on it for a few days, so
I hope everyone enjoys it!

Tonight, Bizatches~~
VegettoEX @
10:33 am EDT -- Osu! I'm VegettoEX! Come join us in
#daizenshuu tonight
when Rachel destroys everyone again in the trivia
contest! At least we can have fun when it happens
:P. But what's this?! Napier has said he'll be joining
the competition! Wow, it'll sure be an interesting
battle for the greatest nerd in #daizenshuu!
Be sure to check it out, tonight in #daizenshuu!

"Toriyama
Shading"... ?
VegettoEX @
2:48 pm EDT -- Anime
News Network has updated with some more coverage
from Anime Expo. At FUNimation's panel, among other
things, it was announced that "Budokai 2"
(which is set for an August 15th release date for
the PS2), will be using (and I quote), "Toriyama
Shading." We've all seen images which show
the game will be cel-shaded, but I find it interesting
they're calling it "Toriyama Shading,"
when kids have no idea who Toriyama is :P.
Trivia
session tomorrow night in #daizenshuu!
I'm up to almost 500 questions, total, and still going
:D.

Trivia
Session, Friday Night!
VegettoEX @
8:12 pm EDT -- Let's keep it going! Hot on the trail
of last week's awesome trivia session in #daizenshuu,
we'll be doing it again this coming Friday evening
at 8 pm EDT. I've come up with a crapload of new questions,
so be ready! See you all there~.

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX @
10:58 pm EDT -- ... with
one crappy question. Ah, well. I'm actually just
really lazy and didn't feel like answering the big
"OVA" question just yet... I'll get to that
soon when I've got more time (maybe next weekend?).
Check it out.
The
trivia contest went great last night! Rachel Oliver
kicked everyone's asses with well over 200 points,
total, for the night. Congrats! Maybe we'll try it
again next weekend? Yes, no? Yes!

VegettoEX @
2:53 pm EDT -- Get ready to show off your insane knowledge
of all things DB and "Daizenshuu EX"...
the trivia contest is tonight! Stop by #daizenshuu
tonight, when we'll be getting our game on starting
around (approximately) 8 pm EDT. It'll be loads of

Napier's
Stuff, Trivia Contest Tomorrow Night!
VegettoEX @
1:47 pm EDT -- Napier's stuff
is starting to sell... if you're interested in picking
any of it up, now's the best time!
Hopefully
by now you've at least stopped by #daizenshuu
for a "Hello," and maybe even download a
few files off the fserve. Well, in the interest of
getting even MORE people (and having fun!), I'll be
starting up a (hopefully weekly!) trivia contest tomorrow
night in the channel! Let's shoot for an 8 pm (EDT)
start time. We'll play for at least an hour, possibly
longer if it goes well. Stop by the "Chat"
page for information on how to get into the room,
and start doing some research! It'll be loads of fun
for all involved.
And
no, don't worry... you won't be facing me or Julian
:P. It's every man / woman for themself, though! :D
