"Ask VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 9:45 pm EDT -- Guess it's been nearly a week since
the last update... drats. Anyway, "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated... with some
pretty good questions, this week! Yay! Keep it up...
I have a blast answering them.
Don't
forget to come
chat on the new forum... lots o' good stuff
going on there.
The
upcoming "Music Directory"
is nearly complete, thanks to some images Julian
(finally :P) sent me. This'll be ANOTHER awesomely
useful section that I'm really proud of. Huzzah! |

New FORUM! "Ask VegettoEX" ! Rejoice!
VegettoEX
@ 11:45 pm EDT -- So "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated. A day late,
I know. Blame Meri's connection at home. Seems between
Dreamweaver, CuteFTP, and AOL... AOL is the only
program I can get to make an FTP connection to Rutgers.
Yeah, that makes sense. *sigh*
So
we've got a brand-new
forum! Big special thanks to the folks over
on AnimationInsider.net for giving us such an awesome
board to work with. I urge everyone to join up and
get discussing! If there's anything the DB web community
needs right now, it's probably a place to actually
get their questions ANSWERED without being ridiculed
or getting mis-information. If there's one thing
we pride ourselves on... it's accurate and complete
information. |

New "Covers" Added
VegettoEX
@ 12:03 pm EDT -- Special thanks to Napier
for scanning the covers of tons of color movie tankôbon
for us. You can check out a bunch of new ones over
on the "Covers"
page. Huzzah!
In
other random news, Yellowcard owns you. Check out
their performance of "Way Away"
from that silly Pepsi Smash show on the
WB! the other night. There's a nice big file for
download over on Idobi
Media. |

New "Budokai 2" and WonderSwan
Game Screen Shots
VegettoEX
@ 1:50 pm EDT -- Big updates over on The Magic Box.
Check out the new
screen shots for "Budokai 2,"
which showcases more of the confirmed characters
(the kids look so cute all cel-shaded!). Also, there's
a mere
three screen shots from the upcoming WonderSwan
game (which you can read
more about in this older update). |

New "Other Artists" & "Covers,"
minor tweaks
Julian @ 10:45
am EDT -- I may not be in charge of the site this
weekend, but that won't stop me from posting yet
another content update.
Today, I've got a new "Other
Artists" image, by Mikio Itô, author
of "Normandy Secret Club" and "Granada"
(neither of which I've heard of before), and I've
put in translations for the text in all the images
on the page. I've also put up the next two DB Kanzenban
books in the "Covers"
section...this month it's Freeza and Saichôrô
(the Namekian Elder), so if you're a fan of self-styled
Rulers of the Universe, or of large, immobile, sluglike
aliens, you may commence the rejoicing.
In addition to those major updates, I've done some
minor tweaks around the site, fixing a few typos
here and there, and making some of the broken address-bar
icons work (silly Mike, FavIcon code needs to link
back to the main directory!). I'll keep working
on these details once I've set up shop in my dorm.
Speaking of which...
This will be my last update from home for a long
time. Tomorrow, I officially move out to college,
where I'll be bereft of my computer for a week and
a half during orientation and such. However, once
I'm back in action, I should be better than ever,
with a broadband connection and better page-editing
tools! At least then, I'll use up less time working
on major revisions to pages... it might even inspire
me to finish up the corrections to the other pages
in the "Music Database."
So...anyways, until we meet again... Mata au
hi made~~!!! |

"Ask VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 1:50 pm EDT -- It's not that Julian didn't do
a fantastic job with it last week (he did!)... but
I'm back, so I took my job back :P.
"Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated with four new
questions for the week. Really good stuff, this
time around. I'm amazed I can actually keep up with
these questions!
Also,
remember to check out the "DVD
Guide" that Julian and I slaved so hard
over... really good stuff ^^;;. |

Stop the Press! The DVD Guide is Here!
VegettoEX
@ 10:21 am EDT -- After months of grueling work
by Julian and I, we're pretty content with it...
we'd like to present the awesome, super, fantastic,
and utterly-informative "DVD
Guide" !
Right
now there are no individual entries for any specific
disc, but that's to come in the future (at our leisure
^^). There IS, however, a complete directory of
EVERY disc that's been released and/or announced,
including the exact episode numbers contained on
it (both English and Japanese where applicable).
Go!
Now! "DVD
Guide" ! Also, for the Hell of it, I went
ahead and updated the layouts of our fantastic "Images"
and "Music
Database" sections to go with our new style
of inner-section-layouts. It's sexy. |

Hah...
VegettoEX
@ 2:25 pm EDT -- Killed all but one gig of my donated
bandwidth for the month... yesterday. Yesterday,
alone. Sooo... down go the direct download links
to the two
new videos :P.
They're
still available for download, provided you've been
a member at AnimeMusicVideos.org
for at least two weeks. If you're not... what the
Hell are you doing?! GO SIGN UP. Once you're signed
up there (and after the two week waiting period,
to sway potential non-caring leechers), you can
download anything you want, any time you want, at
incredibly fast speeds. PLUS... those downloads
aren't going anywhere.
So
good luck to anyone who actually managed to directly
download the two new videos in the last few hours
they were there :P.
So..
the DVD Guide is done... look for that soon ^_~ |

Otakon Music Videos Online for Downloading~
VegettoEX
@ 9:45 pm EDT -- Woo hoo! Back from the con. Greeeeeat-o
stuff there! Otakon's AMV contest this year has
easily become my favorite Otakon AMV contest of
all time; there were only a few videos that I didn't
care for (the rest were just such incredible videos!).
Meri ended up getting 2nd place in the "Romance
/ Sentimental" category by 14 votes... but
to a friend, so it was still cool :D
So
I came back last night, threw up the video entries
on the AMV site, and decided to put them up here,
as well. Only... I also wanted to reformat the AMV
pages. So... I did. In addition to the "Music
Videos" section being completely revamped,
you can find two new videos from me up :D.
The
first, "What
it is to Burn," was my drama entry
for Otakon this year. Didn't make the final cut,
but it's still a damn fine video, in my opinion.
Hope you like a little screaming in your punk-rock
^_~.
The
second video is a collaborative work between Meri
and I, and was our submission for the Fan Parodies
/ Trailers section at Otakon (it also won PortCon
Maine's "Best Parody / Short Film" category
earlier this year). It's called "Obligatory
EVA Trailer," and should get a few
laughs out of you!
Also...
both videos have direct download links, so people
who aren't yet members of www.AnimeMusicVideos.org
can go ahead and download them. HOWEVER... it's
ONLY these two new videos; everything else (including
those two) can only be downloaded if you've been
a member of the AMV site for at least two weeks.
Haven't signed up?!? GET GOING!~~
On
a side note, if you ever download a music video
and enjoy it (whether it be my own or another creator's),
please do them a favor and drop them an e-mail to
let them know. It always makes their day.
So
The
Magic Box threw up a ton more images from "Taiketsu,"
which is due out October 15th. Confirmed characters
include: Goku, Vegeta, Great Saiyaman, Piccolo,
Kuririn, # 18... and it looks like they're also
an art gallery. Getting pretty stuffed for a GameBoy
Advance game!
Be
sure to check out the "Ask
VegettoEX" update Julian made, as well
as all the exciting TV news about DB and GT, below.
Good stuff! |

New "Ask VegettoEX," Starring Me!!
Julian @ 9:45
pm EDT -- Well, it's sort of a day late, but I've
managed to put up this week's "Ask
VegettoEX" article up. Technically, it's not
Mike at all, though...while he's away at Otakon
competing with his AMVs, I'm left to work on the
site on my own. Don't worry, though, 'cause I'm
just as capable as answering questions as Mike is...go
ahead and see for yourself.
Mike will probably be back with an update of his
own once he gets back from the convention, with
news on how he and Meri fared. Dunno when that'll
be exactly, but probably within the next few days.

DB, DBZ, DBGT Cartoon
Network News
Julian @ 11:45
pm EDT -- There's been some massive amounts of information
released in the past day or two regarding the three
DragonBall series, with respect to them airing on
Cartoon Network this fall...to make it easier to
digest, I'll break it down by series (special thanks
to AnimationInsider.net
and Rachel
Oliver for the info):
-
New episodes of DragonBall will be starting on
Monday, September 1st at 5:30pm ET, starting the
Demon King Piccolo saga. This season is expected
to complete the show's run, with the final 52
episodes (102-153).
-
Every Friday in September at 6:00pm ET, a DragonBall
Z "feature" of one form or another will be shown.
This starts on the 5th, with a showing of the
Bardock TV Special. The week after that, it'll
be the Trunks Special, then Movies 5 and 6 (the
two Coola ones) in the weeks after that.
-
DragonBall GT will start on Cartoon Network on
October 3rd, apparently airing just Fridays at
6:30. According to FUNimation's announcement at
Otakon, it will begin from the FUNi-created recap
'episode 16,' "A Grand Problem," as does the DVD
release. They still say the first 15 episodes
(whatever happened to the real Episode
16 that wasn't included on the first DVD?) will
be released eventually, although they haven't
said when.
Anyways, that's that for tonight. Look for an updated
"Ask VegettoEX"
column (guest-starring me!) sometime tomorrow night,
and an updated Newbie
Guide with tonight's info...well, right now,
I guess. Oyasumi Nasai~~ |

"Ask
VegettoEX" Update, Otakon Plans
VegettoEX
@ 3:33 pm EDT -- Check out the "Ask
VegettoEX" update for the weekend. Ended
up being another slow week for submissions, so let's
get them back in :D.
Speaking
of which, I won't be around next weekend to answer
the questions... Otakon! Maybe I can convince Julian
to handle it ^^;;.
So
anyone going to Otakon?
It's gonne be a LOAD of fun this year. Meri's in
the main anime music video contest (yay!), we've
got a funny-ass trailer playing with the fan parodies
/ trailers... man... so much stuff going on.
Oh...
the fserve
in the chat is active again! Come get all our
music videos (maybe even previews of our Otakon
vids ^_~), and... (dun dun duuunnn...) "This

Triiiiiiivia~~~~
VegettoEX
@ 2:14 pm EDT -- Trivia
Tonight! Come check us out! Tons of new questions
that will (hopefully and randomly) appear.
Since
Otakon's next week, there'll be a few new music
videos to put online when the con's over! Get your
ass in gear NOW and sign up for an account on AnimeMusicVideos.org.
There's a two week period before you can download...
but I may have outside hosting for at least one
of the new videos... Regardless, once you're a member
there for two-weeks, you can download ANYTHING at
ANYTIME you wish. Do it, now!
Ugh.
I'm actually listening to DragonBall music
for the first time in a while (at work.. exhausted
the rest of my MP3 collection). And I'm... enjoying
it. Last thing I want to do, right now, is catch
the "I'm VegettoEX and Must Own Every CD"
bug... |
