Sparking! Official Site Updates + Forum Returns!
VegettoEX @ 6:45 pm EDT -- The official Sparking! website has been updated with a slew of stuff, including a new promo video featuring some new playable characters (notably the entire Ginyu-Tokusentai).

And by now, if you haven't heard, it looks like the game is going to feature a bunch of other characters, including Bebi-Vegeta, Super 17, Bojack... more to come as we have free time ^^;;.

Also, big thanks to Josh (as always), the forum is fixed! If you registered during the down-time and need help activating your account, please contact me directly... do not sign up for a new account. Otherwise, you should be good to go! Have fun!

Sparking Release Date = 6 October 2005
VegettoEX @ 5:15 pm EDT -- One last thing before I go. According to The Magic Box, Bandai has set a release date for Sparking! in Japan of 6 October 2005. No official release date for the US version of the game (incorrectly re-titled Budokai Tenkaichi by Atari) has been set.

The DBZ You've Never Seen!
VegettoEX @ 4:20 pm EDT -- If you've been paying attention, you'd remember that Julian and I ran a panel at this month's AnimeNext convention entitled The DBZ You've Never Seen. We showed and explained all sorts of things that have never been released in the US, or alternate versions of things, or just... err... weird stuff! It was an awesome time, and we thank anyone who showed up.

Of course, we have to give something to our regular website visitors, right?! Of course! We're actually bumping our past feature (concerning the "Ultimate Uncut Edition" DVDs and comparisons to other releases) to bring you a recap of the panel, complete with pictures and descriptions! Check it out!

Thanks to everyone who helped out in gathering material for us. You mean the world to us.

In-process... regular updates, again! Coming soon... video game news recaps, free DVDs from FUNimation, free video games from me, music updates, image updates, new sections, all with a fresh mozzarella cheese topping.

And now I'm off to the last Get Up Kids show in my life. All good things... have endings...

DBGT Dragon Box Extras Revealed + Movie Dragon Box
VegettoEX @ 10:20 am EDT -- So the DBGT Dragon Box (gigantic DVD box set) has finally been released in Japan, and we've got a really nice peak at all of the extras contained there-in thanks to DBW of our forum. Check it all out.

Commercials, real-life Zeni (of course, you can't actually use it...), the complete TV special, etc. There's also screen caps of the menus and such. Coming soon will be more information about the Dragon Radar remote and Dragon Book that comes with the set.

What's most important is the indirect confirmation that a movie box set will be released. Using the Zeni that comes with the set, you can fill out a questionnaire on Jumpland which asks what kind of extras you'd like on the next box set. Well, all that's left to be released are the DB/DBZ movies, so there you go! ^_~

Hopefully be back either later today or tomorrow with some really neat stuff.

New Japanese CDs! New AMV! More Coming!
VegettoEX @ 9:15 pm EDT -- The most interesting thing to post was going to be the AMV I created for our The DBZ You've Never Seen panel at AnimeNext this past weekend, but then I did a little looking around on CDJapan, last night, and went into the most frighteningly-fanboy state someone of my age could possibly go into.

Sony Music Entertainment is releasing two new CD singles (one in July, one in August) from the DragonBall universe. But these have a catch.

Apparently, we're getting all newly-recorded versions of the theme songs to DragonBall and DragonBall Z...!!!

Entitled Makafushigi Adventure -2005- and CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA -2005-, both will be performed by their original singers (Hiroki Takahashi and Hironobu Kageyama, respectively), and will contain bonus songs. The first disc is slated to contain the title track, "Mezase Tenka-ichi," "Aoki Tabibito-tachi," and "DragonBall Densetsu". The second is slated to contain the title track and (at least) a new, 2005 version of "WE GOTTA POWER!"

This is extremely exciting news. Anyone else who's been in love with Hironobu Kageyama's vocal songs for the DBZ / Budokai series will surely pass out hearing some of their favorite songs performed with current-day production values.

First-pressings come with stickers! Both CDs will run you ¥1260 (~$11) a pop. We don't know a whole lot else about the CDs, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out. Here are the release dates, catalogue numbers, and entries to them on CDJapan.

So with the actual, cool news out of the way, check out the new music video, "Early DBZ Extravaganza." I edited this back in February with the intention of using it to showcase some of the footage that was originally edited out of FUNimation's English dub ten years ago. We used it at AnimeNext's The DBZ You've Never Seen Panel, and it received the exact response you'd expect a ridiculously juvenile video to receive ^_~.

AMV: Early DBZ Extravaganza

We're working on getting back into the swing of things. I'll catch everyone up on video game news in the near future. Speaking of video games, I've still got some to give away. Not to mention some FUNimation DVDs. Be sure to check back! We're both (Julian and I) home and alive after the con, so you'll see us around, again :P.

(Working on forum...)

We're Alive! Come to AnimeNext! More to Come!
VegettoEX @ 12:35 am EDT -- Wow. Yeah. It's really been that long. Then again, when I was a raving fanboy looking at Suushinchuu every day waiting for Wuken to update, it was a grand day, indeed, that once-a-month when we all got an update :P.

So while there's no actual content for us to update with, there's simply lots of information. Lots.

The reason there's been no updates is actually a combination of reasons. For one thing, the Otakon AMV contest deadline was last month, and we were editing up until the very last minute! You won't be able to see the end-product until the end of August, but it's got DBZ in it... ^_~.

Also, AnimeNext (an anime convention that takes place here in Joisey) is next week. If you're unaware, I run the AMV contest for this convention. In addition to doing the AMV panel and workshop. In addition to doing a DBZ panel, again. It's a ridiculous amount of work (but I wouldn't trade it, for anything).

So what does this mean for you, as our visitors? Well, if you happen to come to the convention, you can hang out with Julian and me (and hey, Meri, too!) :P. Also... yes, a DBZ panel! Last year we did a general 20th anniversary panel. This year we're doing... *drumroll*... The DBZ You've Never Seen.

From vocal game openings, to movies not-yet released, all the way to a scene from the PlayDia footage directly from the Dragon Box Japanese release (translated by Julian, no less!)... we've got some crazy-awesome stuff for you to check out. I also made a mini DBZ music video for it... but it serves an explanatory purpose, too... ^_~. You'll just have to see it to believe it!

Anyway, if you're coming to the convention, be sure to hit us up and check out the panel. The DBZ panel takes place Friday afternoon from 2 to 3 pm in Panel II. Any information you need concerning the convention can be found on www.animenext.org.

We hope to see you there! And if not, rest assured that you'll finally have our attention, again, after we return... some new AMV content... lots of informational content... new sections... extensive updates to pre-existing sections...

We're ready to rock. Oh, and I'll fix the forum when I've got the time to do so >.>...
