I
Love it When My Two Worlds Combine!
VegettoEX
@ 4:50 pm EST -- Colin, a kid outta San Diego, California,
is starting up his indie-rock band called The
Red Ribbon Army; check
out his PureVolume page.; he's got a song up
(called "The Four Agreements")
that you can listen to.
If
you don't get the reference, then I don't quite
understand why you're reading this site ^^. Rock
on, Colin. Best of luck. |

Here's
that "Ask VegettoEX" Update... !
VegettoEX
@ 6:26 pm EST -- "Ask
VegettoEX" has indeed been updated for
the week; easier than I thought it would be (always
seems to be). That's all you're getting out of me
today, but that should at least hold you over for
a little bit ^_~. |

General
Updates Heads-Up
VegettoEX
@ 3:18 pm EST -- Hopefully we'll be seeing an update
to "Ask VegettoEX"
either tomorrow or Sunday; can't guarantee it, but
I'll try my hardest ^^;;. Blah blah blah, crazy
week, no-one cares... we do have
some cool stuff coming. You'll definitely want
to be sticking around for a while. We've got some
new images coming in (more "Animation"
stuff plus new kanzenban stuff, as well),
and just plain ol' more great things :D.
Also,
note that all the MP3s in the "Music
Downloads" section have been zipped. This
is to force you to actually download
them, rather than streaming them off the server.
We had to turn off hot-linking to cut down on bandwidth,
too. Apparently some guy was using one of our MP3s
as the background music on his own personal homepage,
linked directly off our site.
Cute.
Anyway,
that's really it for now... just a heads-up... see
ya' soon! |

"Ask
VegettoEX" + Detailed Movie Synopses!
VegettoEX
@ 1:24 pm EST -- "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated, this week.
I really hate going an entire week without updating
anything but that page, but that's just the way
it goes. True, I had "spring break" this
week, but it was also spent doing.. well... real
work :P
But
that's not all we've got! I actually started preparing
these months ago, but we're just now getting around
to sharing them with everyone. Detailed synopses
(with images!) have been written for five DBZ movies,
including movie 9, which hasn't yet been released
in the US. For all you who love spoilers, check
'em out! Here's a quick-hit list:
They
can all, of course, also be found linked off of
their respective index pages in the fantastic "Movie
Guide." Look forward to some more awesome
stuff coming very soon (and I'm actually not lying,
either!). More news about the "DragonBall:
20 Years of Fandom" panel at AnimeNext
2004, new sections (yay!), etc.
See
you all on the forums~! |

"Ask
VegettoEX" + DB Panel @ AnimeNext 2004!
VegettoEX
@ 6:35 pm EST -- "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated, after missing
a week. Some fun questions! Be sure to check it
out. Hopefully we won't be missing a week, again,
any time soon.
With
that out of the way, I'd like to officially announce
that at AnimeNext
2004, there will be a panel (tentatively) titled
"DragonBall: 20 Years of Fandom"
run by... who else?! Mike "VegettoEX"
LaBrie & Julian Grybowski (and hey, probably
Meri,
as well :P)~! The date and time have yet to be set,
but we're confirmed for the panel. We'll be talking
about all sorts of things (debunking myths and rumors,
re-rise of popularity in Japan, merchandise, etc.).
We're totally looking forward to hosting the panel,
so if you want to come down (or up?) for the convention,
we're looking forward to seeing you!
If
you have any suggestions or thoughts on the panel,
drop
by the thread dedicated to it on our forum and
let us know! |

Nearly
Confirmed... No Live-Action DBZ Movie?!
VegettoEX
@ 9:59 am EST -- KyleHebert.com,
everyone's favorite... (uhh... I dunno, I don't
really go there)... well, apparently one of the
"admins" posted this quote from an "un-named
source" at Fox:
"The
Dragonball Z movie? We don't have that. I've got
a lot of calls about that so I called around [the
studio]. We won't be making that [movie]."
So
it doesn't seem to be absolutely
confirmed (since FUNimation has made it very clear
that Fox is indeed the company that would be making
the movie), but I guess it's a pretty good indication.
And there was a giant sigh of relief among fans.
All
you lame sites that claim Jet Li would OMG B3 SUCHA
GREAT VHETAGGAA!!... you can stop, now ^^. News
courtesy of Anime
News Network, of course. |

FUNimation
DB + DBZ News from MegaCon
VegettoEX
@ 12:31 am EST -- I know, I was supposed to go to
bed half an hour ago because I've got an early class,
but I got caught up finishing some school stuff.
Sue me.
Anyway,
special thanks to Sean Foster for the following
check-in from the FUNimation panel at MegaCon, this
past weekend. Some interesting news...
-
(At
least the FUNimation representative on hand)
did not know when KidMark's sub-license for
the home distribution of DragonBall
episodes 1-13 would expire. This is of note
to fans who understand that FUNimation can't
release the bilingual, uncut DVDs of this saga
until KidMark's sub-license from distributing
the original Saga of Goku boxset has
run up...
-
The re-dub of seasons 1 + 2 ("Saiyan"
and "Namek" sagas, for you
FUNimation fans; approximately 67 episodes in
the original Japanese, which was cut down to 53
for original syndicated broadcast) has been completed.
It is slated to be released after all of DragonBall
GT has been completed and released. Their
format will be in the "popular" box
+ 1 disc style. No word on number of episodes
per disc, but c'mon FUNi... these episodes are
(kinda) already out on DVD...
if you want us to buy them (again), use dual-layer
for Kami's sake and throw 5 episodes on a disc...
That's
it for now. Hopefully that can keep you entertained
for a while~! I know I don't got nuthin' until at
least the end of the week... |

No
"Ask VegettoEX" ;_; .. bu.. but.. DBZ2V
pics!
VegettoEX
@ 12:20 am EST -- There's just no way I was going
to get it done today. Sorry. Not that anyone cares,
but I've got a major presentation in one class on
Wednesday, and a massive paper due in another class
on Friday, not to mention a video editing project
due in another class on Friday, a Java programming
assignment due in another class on Friday... in
case anyone actually is interested,
yeah, I'm taking 18 credits during this, my last
semester of college. It's kinda crazy.
Uhh...
yeah. Expect a double-dose of the asking next weekend.
Anyway,
to make up for my incompetence, check
out this link that was sent to me by Joseph
Bautista. It's a link to a thread on IGN with tons
of images from DragonBall Z 2 and some
promo stuff from DragonBall Z 2 V, with
images of the new "Dragon World" stage
(featuring Onio and Neko Majin Z), some new outfits,
Kuriza, Coola / Metal Coola, etc. Awesome stuff.
Hopefully
I'll have some really interesting news concerning
myself, Julian, a certain TV show, a certain anime
convention, and a certain set of miniature ninja-fighter
penguins at some point this week... stay tuned... |

Finally
Decided to Add "Kuriza" Rumor
VegettoEX
@ 5:31 pm EST -- With all the talk about the Japanese
version of Budokai 2, its hidden characters,
and its upcoming upgrade with even more
characters, it only made sense to officially add
information about Kuriza into the
good ol' respective "Rumor
Guide" page. I've been noticing a lot of
search engine referral hits have been coming from
searches regarding Kuriza, so maybe this will help
some get the information they so desperately want!
Hopefully
we'll get some "Ask
VegettoEX" update in the next day or so.
Didn't get a whole lot of questions, so if you have
any last-minute ones, go ahead and send them in! |

Japanese
Budokai 2 Add-On Disc
VegettoEX
@ 9:18 pm EST -- The
Magic Box has released some images from the
upcoming DragonBall Z 2 V expansion disc
(remember, DragonBall Z 2 is the Japanese
version of Budokai 2; the "V"
comes from V-Jump, a Japanese manga magazine
a la Shonen Jump).
Anyway,
the upgrade looks to have at least Coola (and Metal
Coola) as a playable character, plus some of the
bonus fusions we got in our version (Yamhan / Tiencha,
Gotan / Gokule, Kibitoshin). The screens also seem
to confirm a special "V Jump" version
of the Tenka-ichi Budôkai ring, as
well.
Discuss
and speculate over on our forum~!
We'll,
of course, share whatever else we find out : ).
Thanks to GotenZ1 for reminding me I need to refresh
my favorite video game site at least five times
a day... not four! Hey, I bumped an update... be
sure to read, below :P.
April's
Shonen Jump Cover + "This is DBZ Life"
VegettoEX
@ 7:22 pm EST -- You can find the cover to this
month's (well... April's) domestic Shonen Jump
over on the "Covers"
page. More Yu-Gi-Oh!... *sigh* If that's
what makes it sell, so be it... ^^;;
Also,
due to overwhelming popular demand, "This
is DBZ Life" has been re-uploaded
and is available for direct download. You can find
it over on the "Featured
DragonBall Music Video" page.
All of the music videos are running off of my friend's
laptop, so if they're not up when you try to download,
it just means he took the computer to class... try
again in a little bit, and it'll be good! |
