Detailed Synopsis

At a new Ano-Yo-Ichi Budôkai, the Kaiô have gathered to once again watch a fight between the strongest fighters in the afterlife. As to be expected, they argue with each other over who will prevail in the fight, with our own East Kaiô insisting that Goku will win. He knocks out his opponent as Kaiô flails around... but Paikuhan has won his own fight, as well! As the Kaiô cheer for their fighters (and Dai Kaiô praises the fighters), the two opponents prepare for the final round and begin their fight.

But the narrator warns us that not all is well in the afterlife...!

Hundreds of souls are all herded in to Enma-Daiô's office, where he is sending everyone off to Hell. A few lucky souls are brought to the plane to heaven, but the vast majority are sent off to the soul cleansing machine for a good washing! Tank Boy, a young Oni, is rocking out to his boom box outside the cleaning machine, while an Oni inside mutters about Enma-Daiô's sending everyone to Hell. Tank Boy gets yelled at by his supervisor and appears to feel bad, but goes right back to his headphones and "Yay Yay Yay!" The soul cleansing machine begins to crackle and bursts around Tank Boy, who seems completely oblivious to his surroundings. Enma-Daiô falls over from the blast inside, while Tank Boy finally grabs a fire extinguisher. As more and more smoke erupts around him, Tank Boy morphs into a grotesquely huge figure. Enma-Daiô mentions that they are in deep trouble, while the newly-resurrected Janenba begins to mess with the physics of Hell! An Oni asks what is going on, and Enma-Daiô explains that all of the evil spirits have escaped. Because there is a barrier surrounding them, he cannot govern over the afterlife... the laws governing the world of the living and the dead will soon break down!

Back in the afterlife tournament, Goku and Paikuhan continue their battle.

However, on Earth, ghosts are appearing! Grandpa Yuri appears to his family on his grave, and mentions that his leg is back. Juliet appears to Romeo, and mentions how much older he has become. Dracula staggers down the street, and asks for someone to please remove the stake from his chest. An army on horseback tramples over cars in the city, and are promptly trampled down, themselves, by a disturbingly-familiar-looking dictator and his army of tanks! The world is in chaos!

On Mount Paozu, Gohan and Goten are hard at working finishing their meal, while Chi-Chi is forced to clean up after them. Despite Chi-Chi's protests, Videl offers to help. She is so adept at cleaning dishes, Chi-Chi remarks that she will make a great wife someday! Flattered and embarrassed, Videl drops and breaks a plate. Apologizing, she backs up and knocks over even more plates! Suddenly, her watch begins to bleep, and she is told that help is needed in the city... ghosts are loose! Gohan, now with a serious look on his face, nods.

Back in the afterlife tournament, a giant rock erupts from the ground between Goku and Paikuhan. Goku asks Dai Kaiô what is happening, and the two are sent to go investigate at Enma-Daiô's. Goku remarks that they'll have to finish their fight later, and uses Shunkan-idô to bring the two directly outside Enma-Daiô's. Goku wonders where Enma-Daiô might be, when all of a sudden a weird reflection of him appears in a bubble-like surrounding of the check-in station. Goku (very impolitely, of course) says that he'll break him out. Goku and Paikuhan both blast the barrier, but it's no use. Enma-Daiô says to look up top. The two fly up, and begin to freak out as they see the giant Janenba! Paikuhan begins to yell at the entity, but he can only respond "Janenba, Janenba, Janenba!" Paikuhan, beginning to treat him like a baby, asks nicely for him to quit. Janenba initially ignores him, but when Paikuhan starts screaming again, he flicks him away like a fly! Goku comments on how strong the guy is! Janenba begins to say his name again, and creates a giant gust of wind. Goku asks if Janenba wants to play with him, and he leads him down to Hell.

Hell... looks a lot different than it used to. Janenba falls to the ground making a giant mess, and Goku laughs to himself. Janenba then places his hands on the ground, and creates an army of mini-Janenba (all of which speak their name in a high-pitched voice), and begin to go after Goku. Goku is rushed by them all and tackled while Janenba laughs, but Goku is able to blast them all away. Janenba, with a confused look on his face, stops laughing and can only mutter "Janenba...?" to himself.

Up on Earth, Gohan (now dressed as Great Saiyaman) blasts away a few zombies. He declares "Strike!", while Videl knocks back a few more for him to blast. From above, a familiar voice calls down. As the screen pans up, we see a familiar tail smacks the edge of a building's roof, and Gohan remarks that it is Freeza. Freeza, quite amused with himself, wonders who it is that has heard of his glorious name. Gohan, more as Great Saiyaman than Gohan, pulls off his sunglasses and costume and declares that his is Son Gohan, defeater of evil (much to Videl's delight)! Freeza, while initially shocked to realize that it is Son Goku's son, raises his arm and sends his army of henchmen to fight Gohan! Gohan, not missing a beat, blasts straight up in the air and heads directly for Freeza, landing a single punch in his gut, and then proceeding to blast him to nothingness in the same movement. The henchmen run away in horror and jump off the roof of the building! Gohan continues to do his silly poses, quite pleased with the result of the fight.

Mr. Satan knocks a few zombies off of his back, and poses for... completely non-existent cameras. He even gives a little speech before he realizes that no-one is around to praise him. Wondering why no-one wants to film the world's hero, he punches away a very happy zombie and proceeds to walk away... while a gigantic horde of zombies follow closely behind!

Somewhere on a golf course, Goten and Trunks are looking for the DragonBalls. They find the 4-star ball in one of the golf course holes. As Trunks begins to fly off, Goten is smacked in the face with a golf ball and falls to the ground crying. He decides to play a trick, and places the ball into the hole. An old man later finds it in the hole and declares he got a hole-in-one!

At Capsule Corporation, Bulma places the final DragonBall on the ground and asks Gohan to call out Shenlong ("Ide yo, Shenlong!"). The sky darkens, and Shenlong makes his dramatic appearance. Videl has never seen Shenlong, though Goten seems rather enthralled. Gohan asks Shenlong to put a stop to what is happening on Earth, and Shenlong says he will do so. After a moment, Shenlong says that it is no good; he cannot help. Goten declares that Shenlong is stingy! Shenlong says that it is not within his power to complete the wish, and everyone wonders to to do. After a brief moment, Shenlong interrupts the awkward silence and politely asks if they perhaps have another wish.

Up above the check-in station, Paikuhan is still blasting at the barrier in an attempt to release Enma-Daiô. It's not working. Paikuhan flies up to it and starts to lose his cool. With a few choice words, the barrier begins to break apart. Much to Paikuhan's dismay, it seems that he will have to abandon his polite speech to break through the barrier! With a few not-all-that-severe phrases, he is able to put another dent into the barrier.

Down in Hell, Janenba prances towards Goku. He turns his hand over, and the weird "gum-drops" in the sky begin to fall down at Goku. Janenba then grasps one fist shut, and the gum-balls surround Goku. Janenba rushes forward and straight through the gum-balls, knocking Goku up into the air. As Goku flies towards him, Janenba sticks his hands and feet THROUGH the air and space, itself, coming out in a different area to smack Goku around. Goku finally figures it out, and lifts his hands above his head to block one of the attacks. He then predicts which direction the next punch is going to come from, and throws a ki blast to knock Janenba backwards. Goku then takes a step back and unleashes a massive Kamehameha. Janenba looks down at his hand and creates a "Mini-Goku" that fires a Kamehameha right back at Goku! As the smoke clears, Goku's eyes are wide open in a shocked (and quite toasty) position. It's time to get serious, and Goku turns into a Super Saiyan. Janenba falls over himself, and begins to shoot rapid-fire ki missiles out from the various holes on his body. As Goku dodges them all, Janenba falls on his head and creates a massive explosion.

Paikuhan is still screaming at the barrier!

Down below, Goku lets out an immense scream. Lightning begins to surround him, and waves of ki are pulsing off of him. Even back at the afterlife tournament arena, things are shaking! When the smoke clears, Goku is shown to be in Super Saiyan 3, and remarks that only Majin Buu has ever forced him to use this form. Janenba claps and chants his name, quite happy with the latest development! Goku blasts at amazing speed towards Janenba and doges an attack. He unleashes an assault of punches to Janenba, who once again brings all the gum-balls down to try and stop Goku. Goku knocks Janenba to the ground, and rushes towards him with two fists glowing with ki. Goku shoots straight down through Janenba, who screeches his name in pain, and finally collapses. Goku states that he's won, when all of a sudden Janenba begins to fold into himself and change color. A tail hits the ground, and a new face looks up with a sneer at Goku. Goku wonders what kind of guy this really is.

Up in the city streets, the dictator is causing havoc. Goten and Trunks arrive on the scene, and are shot at by the tanks. The two boys, having the time of their life, avoid all of the shots. Trunks lands on the ground and sarcastically screams for someone to come rescue him! He then punches a tank, which knocks over several more, all while Goten dances around on a barrel. The two decide to play around a bit more and scare the guy, and transform into Super Saiyans. The dictator wonders if these two are a punishment sent from God.

SSJ3 Goku dodges the attacks from a newly-transformed Janenba and tries to land of a few of his own, finally landing a kick to Janenba's face... which he doesn't particularly care for. Janenba once again uses his technique of manipulating space and creates a "black hole" of sorts in front of his face, which essentially eats one of Goku's ki blasts. Goku is able to land a few more kicks to Janenba, but when he tries to land another ki blast, Janenba shows off a new technique of his... a very strange teleportation. He then is able to use his space-manipulation to land another ki blast on Goku.

Up above, Paikuhan is getting more and more angry, wondering why "Paikuhan-sama" has to do such a thing, and proceeds to yell at Goku.

Back at the fight, a strange "roadway" of sorts appears before a severely-winded Goku with an equally strange object on the ground. Janenba teleports himself in front of Goku, and picks the club-like object off of the ground, which promptly turns into a sword. Janenba swings the sword at Goku, who barely dodges. Goku is able to get a ki blast to hit Janenba, but he just stands there smirking as the smoke rises around him. Janenba swings the sword up into the air, and a wave of wind slices through towards Goku. Goku tries to hide behind a gum-ball in the air, but it slices through and nicks Goku's left shoulder pretty badly. Janenba flies up and continues slicing through the air; from the sounds of it, Goku was hit several times. Goku falls into the Bloody Pond (which for some reason has changed into a cylindrical-shape), and out of SSJ3, completely back to normal. Janenba slices away at the Bloody Pond, leaving only a small portion behind which holds Goku. Janenba rushes in to slice Goku in half, but he is suddenly assaulted by a barrage of ki blasts. Vegeta lands on the ground, and proclaims that Kakarrot is HIS opponent! Goku tries to stop Vegeta from battling Janenba, whose sword crumbles in his hand (and... laughs). Vegeta flies up and blasts away at Janenba, who simply teleports away. Vegeta catches on quickly, though, and blasts at where Janenba is teleporting TO... but is still caught by an extending-arm, which chokes him out of SSJ. Vegeta is slammed down through the gum-balls to the ground, and lands in the spikey mountain.

Goku chases after him, and lowers him to the ground inside the mountain. Vegeta, having trouble speaking and standing, tells Kakarrot to stay out of the way. The two converse on how strong Janenba is, and how it would be impossible to defeat them. Goku says that it's not impossible... with fusion. Vegeta absolutely refuses to fuse with Goku, despite Goku's pleas. Vegeta mentions he would rater DIE than fuse with Goku...! Goku, with a somewhat confused look on his face, tells Vegeta that he's already dead! Vegeta whimpers to himself, and lets out a big sigh.

Janenba finally spots where the two are (and are arguing), and launches an attack from afar. Goku dodges the shard-like beams, but Vegeta is hit. Goku runs over to Vegeta and tells him to hang on, but does not help him up (seemingly understanding Vegeta's pride). Vegeta curses to himself and lets out a tear. Goku says he understands, and will fight Janenba on his own since their fusion would be impossible; Vegeta should get moving. Vegeta yells to Goku as he stands up, and says that he will do the fusion. Goku is surprised, but happy. Janenba suddenly appears from above and lets loose another shard-like beam attack. Goku uses Shunkan-idô to teleport the pair far away. Janenba looks around, but cannot see them anywhere... and begins to let out a strange yelp, surrounding himself with ki.

Goku says that they must hurry up; Vegeta simply nods, sitting with his head down. Goku begins to explain the process of fusion, including the pose. He shows off each of the steps with each of the spoken phrases ("FU - SION - HA!"). Vegeta freaks out and asks Goku if he honestly expects him to perform that. Vegeta almost seems to be in shock! Janenba continues to yelp from afar...

Back at Enma-Daiô's, Paikuhan is out of breath from yelling at the barrier to break it down. Enma-Daiô appears and tells Paikuhan to hurry up, to which Paikuhan screams in reply, "ENMA NO KUSOJIJII!"

Meanwhile, the dictator is launching an all-out assault on the two Super Saiyan children. The two land on the ground, and launch forward into the tanks, destroying them all.

Goku and Vegeta equal out their ki, and perform the fusion dance. We see that Vegeta has a closed fist instead of an extended pointer finger, though. Janenba finally senses them, and a huge ki appears from above! It's... a disgustingly fat and short fusion of Goku and Vegeta. This new fusion proclaims he will defeat him! Kaiô, watching on a TV from the tournament still, proclaims that they didn't form Gogeta correctly. Sliding in with a snide remark, South Kaiô mentions that it's not Gogeta, it's "Veku."

Veku flies forward, but is smacked in the face by Janenba and blasted into a mountain. Veku hops out and wobbles forward... and despite having a bloody face, gives Janenba the finger. Janenba comes on in, and smacks him around like a toy. Veku falls upside down, and farts in Janenba's face. Veku stumbles into Janenba again, and knocking him on the ground, again farts in his face. Veku gets up and begins running around with Janenba chasing him. The Kaiô discuss what went wrong as Veku falls face-forward on the ground and barely lands two fists in Janenba's stomach. Veku runs forward again... and falls AGAIN... while Janenba simply stands and laughs. Veku suddenly runs off, while Janenba tries to take it all in.

The dictator still fires away at the two kids...

Janenba walks around trying to find Veku, and grabs a spike. He turns with a smirk and has it extend towards Veku. The fusion miraculously wears off right before it hits him, so Goku and Vegeta burst off to safety. Vegeta yells at Goku and asks what went wrong with the fusion. Kaiô talks to Goku telepathically and tells him that Vegeta did not extend his finger. Vegeta declares he did exactly what he was told to do!

Goku, with a big smile on his face, tells Vegeta they need to fuse again! As the two attempt to fuse, a blast comes in and blasts them away from each other. Janenba flies in and goes for an attack, but he is suddenly smacked away by Paikuhan! Paikuhan tells Goku to hurry up and finish the fusion; Goku thanks him, and the two blast off to safety again to fuse. Janenba tries to fly by Paikuhan, who sticks out a single arm, and says that he cannot let Janenba past. Janenba flies forward, and as Paikuhan calls him trash, Janenba's face turns to shock as a little bit of his chest breaks off...

Goku and Vegeta are able to perform the fusion as Paikuhan tries to fight Janenba. Janenba teleports behind Paikuhan and smacks a fist on each side of his head, but it was enough time... the fusion was a success! Paikuhan falls to the ground and mutters "Ya...tta...". Back above, Goten and Trunks sense their fathers' respective ki has fused, and perform fusion themselves into Gotenks! Gogeta declares that he will avenge Paikuhan, as Janenba screams and collects ki. With a cold stare, Gogeta further proclaims, "I am neither Goku nor Vegeta... I am the one who will defeat you!" Gogeta moves with insane speed towards Janenba, and lands hits to his chest. Gogeta continues forward and smashes three kicks to Janenba, and finally does an upside down kick to knock him away. As Janenba tries to catch his balance, Gogeta (facing the opposite direction) throws one hand up in the air, and spins himself back around to face Janenba. He collects a strange, colorful ball of energy in his hand, and closes his fist. Janenba rushes forward, and Gogeta throws the energy towards Janenba, stopping him in his tracks. Janenba tries to punch at Gogeta, but with an unviewable speed, catches the first immediately in front of his face with one hand. Janenba's eyes go wide, and his body begins to evaporate away. He falls backward the the energy reverts him back to Tank Boy... who takes one look up at Gogeta, screams, and runs away. Gogeta smirks to himself.

Gotenks unleashes a massive Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack on the dictator and his army, pretty much destroying the entire city. With a pile of tanks behind him, Gotenks proclaims, "No problem!" with a smile.

Goku says his farewell to Vegeta, who fades away (since he is not allowed to keep his body in the afterlife). Above on Earth, all of the dead figures (Dracula, zombies, etc.) also fade away. Enma-Daiô decides that everything is back to normal. Gohan, Videl, Trunks, and Goten fly off into the sunset. Videl and Gohan wonder what's so funny between the two boys, who burst off and say they won't tell their secret!

Shenlong lowers his head and asks if they've come up with another wish yet...!
