Gone for Otakon~
VegettoEX
@ 9:23 pm EDT -- There will be no "Ask
VegettoEX" this weekend, as I will be gone
to Otakon for the weekend! Well, that... and...
well... there's only two questions in my mailbox
:P. So don't expect any updates this weekend, unless
Julian pulls something outta nothing. Or something.
If
you're going to the con, here's some things to check
out / places to find us!
- AMV
Contest showings: Friday morning
and Friday evening. Friday morning is kinda the
first thing to do, really, while Friday evening
is the INSANELY HUGE main showing. Remember, Meri
and myself both have videos in the contest...
and mine's DBZ :P
- Fan
parodies:
Saturday night, come check out part one of our
new fan parody! While not quite a direct sequel
to This is Otakudom, you're still gonna
laugh your asses off.
- FUNimation
panel:
We'll
see if there's time for some "work"
while I'm there :P.

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 12:03 pm EDT -- "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated for the week.
I always say this, but there's some very interesting
questions, this time around! I'm always amazed that
more than a year after I started the section you
folks manage to come up with increasingly difficult
interesting questions! My hat is off to you. |

"Filler
Guide" & "DVD Guide" Updates
VegettoEX
@ 9:54 am EDT -- The "Filler
Guide" has been updated with DBZ
episode 006. Some really interesting stuff in
this episode! Of note are the "Miscellaneous"
points at the end; you're sure to learn some new
things.
Also,
the "DVD
Guide" has had its respective DBGT
TV page updated with all the current info and
cover art concerning the "Lost Episodes"
releases. Thanks to everyone who sent in the reminders.
And
to those who haven't found out yet...
My
latest Anime Music Video, Three Outta Four
Ain't Bad, has made it into the final cut
for the Otakon
Anime Music Video Contest! Yes, it's a DBZ video,
and no, it's not a drama or action video :D. If
you're gonna be at the convention, be sure to come
check it out. Expect the video online right after
the con. |

"Rumor
Guide" Updated... The Infamous "Prank
Call"
VegettoEX
@ 12:47 am EDT -- The "Rumor
Guide" has been updated with the following
rumor, which has actually turned into more of an
urban myth than anything else...!
Be
sure to check it out... especially if you're one
of those people that actually thinks Sonny Strait
would still have a job after performing such a "prank
call" on a peer voice actor and posting it
on the Internet :P. The interview text and audio
MP3 files are available for download.
Expect
the "Filler
Guide" to be updated as soon as Julian
finishes up some images, and "Ask
VegettoEX" this weekend! |

"Ask
VegettoEX" Updated
VegettoEX
@ 12:47 am EDT -- "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated for the week!
Some good questions, yet again. Remember... the
more good questions sent in, the more we try to
answer them! If you've sent in a dumb question and
it doesn't appear on the site, maybe that's a good
indication of something, huh? :P
As
soon as Clay's around and gets some free time, we're
hoping to have another nice update to the "Filler
Guide," so look for that soon! |

More
DBZ3 / Budokai 3 Screen Shots Released
VegettoEX
@ 8:56 am EDT -- The
Magic Box has posted two pages of new screen
shots from DragonBall Z 3 / Budokai 3...
it feels like the same bunch of shots we've been
seeing for a while, but there's a couple new ones.
These mostly focus on Broli, but there's a glimpse
of Gogeta in there, as well as both of Coola's forms.
In
other random news from The
Magic Box, DragonBall Z 2 (Budokai 2)
has been the 9th best-selling game of 2004, thus
far, selling just over half-a-million copies over
the course of the year.
We
know, Clay missed his first deadline on the "Filler
Guide" yesterday (*shakes fist*), but he
says he'll hopefully be around to make up for it
this weekend with one or two episodes! We'll also
definitely have an "Ask
VegettoEX"; I didn't bother last weekend,
since we only had two questions by Sunday evening. |

Budokai
& Budokai 2 Soundtracks Finally Coming!
VegettoEX
@ 10:40 am EDT -- Big thanks to new forum go-er
SS Kakarot for pointing this out to us; the two
Budokai games are finally getting a (dual,
one-disc) soundtrack release in Japan! On top of
it being ridiculously cheap, it will also be coming
with a bonus DVD that includes a music video for
the Budokai 2 theme (possibly just the
animation in the game), "classic game moments,"
and more!
NOTE:
Remember that the Budokai games are simply
referred to as DragonBall Z and DragonBall
Z 2 in Japan.
The
soundtrack drops on 1 September 2004 in Japan, will
cost ¥3200 (just under $30), and
you can pre-order it over on CDJapan right here! |

Dun
Dun Dun... the "Filler Guide" Appears!
VegettoEX
@ 12:00 am EDT -- Whoa! The new "Filler
Guide" finally premiers! Ever wonder just
how much of each episode is actually filler material?
Ever wonder what scenes were changed in the transition
from manga to anime? Ever wonder what kind of plotholes
and inconsistencies all this filler created?
Now
you can find out! The "Filler
Guide" is sporting fully complete detailed
pages for DBZ
TV episodes 1-5, as well as a full page listing
a ton of plotholes
and inconsistencies created by filler and the
movies.
Be
sure to thank Clay and Rach (and Julian, too!) on
the forum
and in the chat.
They worked their rear-ends off. Expect at least
one episode every week to be updated in the "Filler
Guide!" Let us know what you think of it
in
its respective thread.
You'll
notice the "Episode Guide"
link is now down. There's a reason for this. Expect
something awesome very soon. |

"Ask
VegettoEX" + Two "Shonen Jump" Cover
Scans
VegettoEX
@ 10:54 pm EDT -- Happy fourth! "Ask
VegettoEX" has been updated for the first
time in a while; you'll find some really neat questions
over there! We even had a question sent in that
brought to our attention something in the Viz graphic
novel release that we've never noticed before!!
Mondo nuts!
Also,
I've scanned and put up the covers from the last
two months worth of domestic "Shonen Jump"
over on the "Covers"
page. Cooooool stuff, as well. |

DBZ:
Legacy of Goku IV & DB: Red Ribbon
Army~?!
VegettoEX
@ 6:45 pm EDT -- Thanks to the ever-perceptive folks
over on our forum, we've unearthed some listings
to two new GBA games over on Atari's site:
What
to expect? Well, LOG4 will most likely
follow in the step footsteps as the previous three
games (action/RPG; remember, Buu's Fury
is technically LOG3). What series will
it follow? Well, the page notes "DragonBall
GT and all logos..."; sounds like a DBGT game,
to me!
What
about the DB game? Unsure. The description makes
it sound similar to the LOG series, so
perhaps it will continue the action/RPG series.
"The
Buzz" has been updated with relevant information.
We'll, of course, give you all the information and
screen shots that we can as they become available! |

New
Music Videos + Feedback Needed!
VegettoEX
@ 9:03 pm EDT -- Two
new music videos have been added! I hope you
all have your AnimeMusicVideos.org
accounts, because now that I'm done with school
(and so are all of my friends), I no longer have
those amazing free T3 FTP servers with no bandwidth
caps :P.
The
two videos including a DBZ/DBGT trailer using audio
from The Day After Tomorrow, and a video
I made specifically for the AMV panel at AnimeNext
2004. Be
sure to check 'em out!
Also,
we'd really like to know... are you interested in
doing the trivia night sessions, again? Come
let us know on the forums. What days/times are
best for you? They'll be held in the chat
room, if/when we get around to doing them again.
See you! |
