Hiya! I’m Goku! So- So- Son Goku, I only came from the mountains, But my grampa taught me Kung-Fu and gave me his trusty Nyoi-Bô That I carry on my back! It’s my world, and nobody can beat me! Jan-Ken, Punch! Extend, Nyoi-Bô! Ehe... No doubt about it! I’m the best on Earth! Huh? My special move? Ka- Ka- Kamehame-Ha, The Kamehame-Ha’s really awesome! The old-timer Kame-Sen’nin Uses this weird, weird move, That smashes even mountains apart! It’s a cool technique! I’m gonna do it, too! Kamehame-Ha! Hey! Ain’t it great? It’s a mystery! Can I even fly through the sky? Ki- Ki- Kinto-Un, Like kurikinton,1 it’s got its own special flavor! The old-timer Kame-Sen’nin Gave me this happy, happy cloud, That glides through the sky! I’m free to go wherever! Come to me, Kinto-Un! Go to the ends of the Earth! Oho! It’s so fun! The ends of the sky! Where’d my grampa’s Dragon Ball go? D- D- Dragon Ball, My grampa’s heirloom, the Four Star Ball! If you gather all seven of ’em together, the Dragon’ll Grant everybody’s wish! Journey after journey, it’s a big adventure! Hang in there, I won’t get beat—! That’s weird! Will I get crushed? I’m gonna find out! |
1 The spoken lines, in between the stanzas, aren’t printed in the lyrics.
However, since they introduce the subject of each verse, I transcribed them by ear and added them in. 2 This is a sort of “giggle” noise. It’s not set apart by anything in particular in the Japanese text; I just wanted to make it clear that it's not really a word. 3 This phrase is a pun. If you read the kanji for “hito-aji” as “ichi-mi,” the meaning becomes “one bit different” rather than “unique flavor"... which actually makes more sense. 4 The names of the Dragon Balls are written in Chinese, so the kanji here actually read “si xing qiu.” The “sûshinchû” pronunciation is just a Japanese approximation. |
1 Kurikinton is a dish made up of mashed sweet potatoes and chestnuts. The joke here, of course, is that it sounds like “Kinto-Un” (see footnote 3 at left). |
Hey everybody, Julian here. This invisible text doesn’t have anything to do with the song itself, so as long as you’re just casually reading the lyrics on Daizenshuu EX, this doesn’t concern you. However, if you’re reading this on another site, please contact me, at jgjedi@aol.com. I put a lot of hard work into this transcription/translation, and I don’t appreciate those who would try and steal my work, claiming it as their own. So, to all of you worthless assholes out there who do that sort of thing, be aware...I’m watching. |
