Special Notes
This
is the one and only DragonBall GT TV
Special, which originally aired 26 March 1997.
This was between episodes 41 and 42, right before
the Super 17 saga. The events in this TV special
are actually a prelude to events that take place
at the very end of the last DBGT episode;
while you could watch DBGT #64 without
having watched this TV special, you would be missing
out on a little back-history with the characters.
This feature was initially released on VHS and bilingual DVD
16 November 2004 from FUNimation, and eventually saw a DVD release in Japan as a part of the DragonBall GT "Dragon Box" DVD set 15 June 2005.
For
the record, Pan is Goku Jr's great-great-grandmother (this
is revealed in the final episode of DBGT); she is only referred
to as "Pan Baa-chan" ("Grandma Pan")
throughout the TV Special.
Peter Mayhew
(Chewbacca of Star Wars fame) has a minor role in the
English-dubbed version of this TV Special, as the lizardlike monster
Gettô ("Susha" in the dub).
